New Hampshire City Service

The New Hampshire Municipal Association is a nonpartisan, member-governed, and volunteer organization that works to strengthen New Hampshire’s cities and improve their ability to serve the public. It is dedicated to effective municipal government and provides education, training, advocacy, and legal services to help local government members do their jobs better.

Rochester

The City of Rochester, New Hampshire is a great place to live. It is located about 20 miles inland from the seacoast. Its eastern border is marked by the Salmon Falls River, which forms the border between New Hampshire and Maine. The city is also near famous New Hampshire lakes and the White Mountain region.

Rochester is a metered community, and all commercial and residential customers will need to install a meter. School buildings, hospitals and non-City community facilities must also install a meter. In addition, those customers who do not already have a meter must pay it. In addition, industrial and commercial customers without a meter will be required to install one.

The city of Rochester is the site of a gas station that was contaminated by MtBE. The City is undergoing a large project to address the problem. It will cost up to $5.4 million and is being funded by the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services’ MtBE Remediation Bureau. The project will affect as many as 160 households. Approximately 100 of these households are single family homes. The rest are condos.

Nashua

The City of Nashua offers a wide variety of services to the general public. These services can be obtained in person, by mail, over the phone, and online. In addition to in-person services, City Hall is also accessible via online services and Drop Box. Contacting City Hall is easy.

Nashua has a four-season climate that includes short, humid springs, long, cool summers, and cold winters full of snow. The average temperature ranges from 22.7 degrees Fahrenheit in January to 70.9 degrees Fahrenheit in July. The city has 9.4 days with highs of over 90 degrees and only eight days below zero degrees. Rainfall is evenly distributed throughout the year, with the wettest season occurring during the summer. The amount of snowfall varies from season to season, but is generally around 55 inches.

Nashua is home to a number of entertainment options. Residents can find everything from live music to indulgent street food. Residents also have access to the New Hampshire Seacoast and the region’s mountains and lakes.
